A different and delicious way with sausages that takes hardly any time or effort. Excellent value too.

  1. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil
  2. Cut the sausages into bite- sized chunks.
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the sausage pieces for about 8 minutes until golden.
  4. Peel and crush the garlic. Add it to the frying pan and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the white wine and boil for about 5 minutes until it has reduced by half.
  6. Add the tomato puree and tomatoes. Season with a pinch of salt and continue cooking on a low heat for 15 minutes until the sauce is rich and thick.
  7. Meanwhile, put the conchiglie into the pan of boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes or as directed on the packet. Drain in the sieve or colander.
  8. Wash the basil leaves.
  9. Toss the pasta into the sauce with the torn basil. Mix well, sprinkle with grated parmesan and serve.
