Really easy Irish bread rolls

  1. PRE-HEAT OVEN TO 200˚C/180˚C FAN/GAS 6
  2. Mix the two flours, oats, salt and bicarbonate of soda in a bowl. Add the buttermilk and stir to form a dough.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a floured surface and knead gently. Divide the dough into 8 balls.
  4. Flatten each ball and slash a cross on top. According to Irish tradition this is to let the fairies out - but it also helps cook the bread!
  5. Place the rolls on a floured baking tray and bake for 25 minutes or until they sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
